Cookies on this website.

This page explains what cookies this site sets, why they are set and how you can manage them.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies are widely used to make sites work, remember your preferences and provide information to site owners about how visitors use their pages.

Cookies this site sets

This site does not set any cookies of its own beyond those placed by the third-party services listed below, which are loaded through Google Tag Manager.

Google Analytics 4 - _ga, _ga_*

These cookies are set by Google Analytics 4. They count the number of visitors to the site, measure how long people spend on pages and identify how visitors arrive (for example, from a search engine or a paid advert). The _ga cookie persists for up to two years; _ga_[Property ID] persists for up to two years. The data is processed by Google and is subject to Google's privacy policy. No personally identifiable information is stored in these cookies.

Google Ads attribution - _gcl_aw

This cookie is set by Google Tag Manager when you arrive on the site after clicking a Google Ads advert. It stores the Google Click ID (gclid) so that if you submit an enquiry form, we can record which advert led to your enquiry. The cookie persists for up to 90 days. It is used solely for advertising measurement and is not used to serve you adverts elsewhere.

Google Tag Manager operational cookies

Google Tag Manager may set short-lived cookies for its own operation. These do not store personal data and expire when you close your browser.

Cookie consent

This site currently does not display a cookie consent banner. (Note to Advantage Utilities: analytics and advertising cookies generally require prior consent under PECR. Please seek legal advice on whether a consent mechanism is required for your use case.)

How to manage cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing ones or be notified when a cookie is set. Please note that blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the site work. For guidance specific to your browser, visit aboutcookies.org.

To opt out of Google Analytics measurement specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the services on this site change. The current version will always be published at this address.
